Rusholme: Platt Fields

Platt Fields is about eight miles south of the city centre. It's west of Princess Parkway, mostly between Altrincham Road and Hollyhedge Road. See rehousing area map (pdf).

Living in Platt Fields

Platt Fields is handy for a wide range of facilities. There are small supermarkets and local shops all along Wilmslow Road, and a large, modern Sainsburys less than a mile away in Fallowfield.

Wilmslow Road is famous for its restaurants, shops and cafes. Public transport is excellent, with regular buses along Wilmslow Road to Manchester and the suburban centres of Withington and Didsbury - the vibrant city centre, with its employment, leisure and entertainment facilities is just a few minutes journey.

Platt Fields Park is just across the road. This large green area has a boating lake, angling, four bowling greens, football pitch, crazy golf, and tennis courts.
